LG

While the relationship between the local carriers might come close, there is nothing quite like the intense competition between LG and Samsung when it comes to releasing new products. If one company announces something unique, it doesn't take very long for the other to release a very similar device. This applies to TVs, smartphones and especially audio devices.

Samsung announced its first curved soundbar last year, and it's taken a bit longer for LG to come up with a reply, but it now has: in the form of the LAS855M Music Flow Wireless Curved Sound Bar. Why curved? Because it's designed to accompany LG's curved 4K and OLED televisions .

It's a 4.1-channel design, which means four front-mounted drivers and a wireless subwoofer, and though it has a boomerang-like curve, it's able to be wall mounted.

The LAS855M is part of LG's Music Flow line, which offers Wi-Fi music streaming from the likes of Spotify, Google Play Music, Pandora and TuneIn. As far as other connectivity is concerned, the soundbar features HDMI passthrough as well as Bluetooth connectivity

The LG Curved Sound Bar will be available at US retailers in October at a suggested price of $699, a hundred dollars more than the equivalent Samsung .
