We’ve watched the Pokémon Go phenomenon explode to exponential success. The company is making tons of money in in-app-purchases, lots of attention on the media and news, the game has easily become a huge part of pop culture for this era, and surpassed the number of Twitter’s daily users. All of this in the span of only 1 month.
Niantic is now rolling out an update for the game which brings it to version 0.33.0 (Android and 1.3.0 (for iOS). The update brings a few new fixes and changes while also bringing the battery saving feature to iOS which was causing bugs with the initial build. The game also features new optimizations. It feels much smoother and with fewer dropped frames when loading or rotating the compass’ direction.
The Pokémon finder menu has also changed. It’s no longer called “Nearby Pokémon” and will now be labeled as “Sightings”. This can perhaps suggest that if a specific Pokémon is spotted nearby, not all players will be able to find it in that spot. Though it’s not immediately notable if the mechanics of finding and catching Pokémon have been altered at all.
Here is the official change log:

He said "platforms" (plural with the 's' on the end) ... meaning some could be dead while others are about to die...
If you have an Android phone and want even more battery savings you should try this. I am using "Battery Extender GO"
