For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with Softorino to offer 15 MacRumors readers a chance to win a copy of WALTR for Mac. WALTR is designed to make it easy to upload any music or video file to an iOS device.

With WALTR, you can drag and drop a wide variety of media files onto your iPhone or iPad, and they'll be automatically added to the appropriate native Music or Video app on the device. Supported file types include MP4, AVI, CUE, WMA, M4R, AAC, M4V, M4A, FLAC, ALAC, MKV, LV, M2TS, TS, DV, MPG, MPEG, MPE, WEBM, MB4, AIFF, WAV, OGG, WV, TTA, and DFF.

Transferring a file is as simple as plugging an iPhone or iPad into your Mac or PC, turning off iTunes, and dragging any media file onto the Mac app. From there, the file is converted and uploaded to your device within minutes.

If anyone from Softorino are reading this, you just shot yourself in the foot by appearing to be more interested in Americans than in the rest of the world.
Andy, I'm one of the guys behind the apps at Softorino. Please know that we treat everyone equally, no matter what race they are or what country they're from. We had no requests for limiting the contest to specific countries. This is strictly a contest that is run by MacRumors. It's completely up to MacRumors staff to decide what rules they will run for the contest.

I am sure that Juli Clover can elaborate on this. Since she wrote this post, there's probably a reason why the raffle is only limited to U.S. residents.

And also, Andy – pretty much the whole team at Softorino is from Europe. Many developers are from Ukraine. So I can assure you, there's a misunderstanding here.

P.S.
Please don't look at our competitors :)
Simply because there really isn't that much competition. This app is first of its kind. But of course, there are workarounds.

Have to add, I bought this program a while back through StackSocial, and it's really an amazing piece of software.

I used to have to try or purchase a bunch of third-party video player apps on my iPhone and iPad, each one with its own quirky interfaces and quirky method of transferring files (built-in FTP or HTTP server, copying the video file to the app's sandboxed folder in iTunes, etc.).

I don't even have to open iTunes anymore with WALTR, just drag and go.

Even if you don't win, it's worth buying. One less roadblock or hoop that you have to go through when dealing with Apple and real world scenarios.

Rare455 ('https://forums.macrumors.com/members/rare455.935090/'), I'm sorry you've been caught up in this long-running battle between MacRumors staff and MacRumors readers. The site always refuses to run international competitions citing spurious reasons, and readers outside the USA always complain.

My advice to you, and to other companies thinking of running give-aways through this site is to weigh up the positives and negatives for any future give-aways. At the end of this, you'll have 15 happy Americans and a unknown number of unhappy people in the rest of the world who feel the same way I do. Was that worth whatever running this competition has cost you?
Regardless of what we're giving away, software or hardware, the same contest rules apply. We're not refusing or making up fake reasons as to why we can't run international giveaways at this time -- there are very real and very complicated rules governing contests in countries outside of the United States that could have legal implications for us.

Laws on giveaways vary significantly from country to country and navigating the legal complexities to comply with each of the laws is a nightmarish task we don't currently have the resources for. We have heard the complaints of our international readers, though, and we are looking into solutions. We would love to be able to offer giveaways to everyone.

I won this software in a past give-away on MacRumors, it's a fantastic piece of software that has grown more useful overtime with support from the developers.
