As of writing, some MagSafe cases are also available for pickup at select Apple Stores in countries like the United States, Canada, and Germany.

Filip Chudzinski, developer of Apple Watch band app Bandbreite and editor of Apple Store-focused Twitter account Storeteller, has shared a number of high-quality images of the ‌MagSafe‌ charger and the Deep Navy Silicone Case for iPhone 12 and ‌iPhone‌ 12 Pro.

YouTube channel DerDaku has shared a ‌MagSafe‌ charger unboxing video in German:

‌MagSafe‌ is set to improve the charging experience on ‌‌iPhone‌ 12‌, with magnets that are optimized for alignment and efficiency, and the technology still supports existing Qi charging mats.

‌MagSafe‌ also brings a new ecosystem of magnetic cases and accessories that snap onto the ‌‌iPhone‌ 12‌. This includes new silicone, leather, and clear cases that easily connect onto the back of the ‌iPhone‌, as well as a separate leather wallet accessory. Third-party accessories from Belkin and OtterBox have also been announced.

The images reveal a ring containing ‌MagSafe‌'s magnets on the interior of the case and confirm that Apple's new silicone cases cover the bottom of the ‌iPhone‌ for the first time.

The ‌MagSafe‌ charger also seems to be made of matte silver aluminium, unlike the polished metal seen on Apple's similar Apple Watch charging puck.

Do wish the MagSafe charger cable was removable. Would be nice to have flexibility in wire lengths.

Finally, FINALLY, Apple releases an official case that protects the BOTTOM of the phone as well. I don't know why every official case made for the 6 and up always left the bottom unprotected but it was so irritating. So happy they knocked that off and went back to the full coverage style of the 5S and older cases.

I don't understand, are the magnets inside the phone? or inside the charger, and they just added a metal ring to the case?
Yes.

?

So how are the magnets gonna play with Credit Cards in the MagSafe pouches?
Protected by the pouch lining, although you Americans really should stop with the magnet strip every other country have been using the chip for the last 10 years and are now paying wireless through rfid, so you're using a 2 generation old technique of paying.

Sheer genius. This in hind sight appears obvious, but why havent we seen this beofre on other smartphones? Whomever came up with this at Apple deserves a bonus. A Starbucks gift card or something for adding god-knows-how-much money to the Apple ecosystem.

My SUPER boring question: if you choose to go without a case on your shiny, more durable, iPhone 12/Pro, will the MagSafe charger scratch the glass back?
