GIGABYTE Announces ‘Classic Challenge’ Winner 2012

 

Aristidis Makes a Clean Sweep to Win Three Ultra Durable™ 5 Motherboards

 

Taipei, Taiwan, August 23, 2012 – GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, today announced the winner of the GIGABYTE Classic Challenge, the latest overclocking competition hosted on HWBOT.org. Greek overclocker Aristidis walks away with three Ultra Durable™ 5 motherboards by coming top in both competition stages, thus qualifying for our special bonus prize.

Overclockers were asked to compete on two stages comprising two classic benchmarks; 3DMark 01 and Super Pi 32M. With both X79S-UP5-WIFI and X79-UP4 GIGABYTE boards lined up as Stage 1 and Stage 2 prizes, we added an interesting twist. If one entrant could display the raw talent to claim both stages, GIGABYTE promised to award a bonus prize of a forthcoming GIGABYTE F2A85X-UP4. Congrats to Aristidis for achieving this feat.

Stage 1: 3DMark 01 Full Out – Multi GPU Allowed

Stage 2: SuperPi 32M – CPUs Locked at 4.5GHz

 

Note: Entrants could use any GIGABYTE Z77 series motherboard, using retail hardware only, while adhering to regular HWBOT submission and verification rules.
